Policy for Autumn Semester classes
Dear students,
Autumn Semester classes will be held basically in person, with on-demand classes for courses with a large number of registrants and some online classes offered in accordance with course features. This policy follows the measures taken when classes started in April.
English-taught courses, which were initially taught entirely online at the beginning of this academic year will basically shift to an in-person format or a hybrid format that effectively combines in-person and online classes.
Furthermore, as in the Spring Semester, classrooms will continue to be allocated according to the special capacity limits determined with consideration for ventilation needs.
The class format of a course may be changed from what was originally announced in the syllabus. Therefore, students should check the updated syllabi to be announced on Wednesday, September 1, and plan their course registration accordingly.
Students may be permitted to join classes online upon request if they are not allowed to enter Japan from overseas, or if students themselves or family members whom they live with are faced with special circumstances, including health issues. Application procedures will be posted on the Loyola bulletin at a later date. Students who wish to join classes online should check and follow these procedures.
Students are asked to be prepared to join classes in person on campus from the beginning of the Autumn Semester.
It should be noted that we may need to change this policy depending on the status of COVID-19 infections in and outside the university. Although we intend to follow the policy described above, please be sure to check the final decision to be posted before the Autumn Semester begins (in early September.)
