The Career Center handles and manages information on graduate career paths with care as outlined below, based on the Sophia School Corporation Policy on Personal Information Protection.
1. Purpose of information gatheringWe only provide information to job hunting students within the scope of graduate visits, primarily focused on research into companies. Information is used for no other purpose.
2. Method of ProvisionData on the Career Path Decision Notice submitted by a student at the time of graduation will only be disclosed if information disclosure approval has been gained from the student themselves. Information including name, gender, faculty and department, year of graduation, and career destination (name of company or educational institute) can only be viewed from a computer within the Career Center Materials Room and only after the person wishing to view the information has been verified. Only students may use this resource. Data cannot be printed or copied. Data cannot be accessed from outside the university.
We also keep lists of former graduates provided by the HR departments of companies. These are kept with a contact at the Career Center and can only be viewed by students after their student ID has been verified. These lists cannot be copied or photographed but students may take a memo. The type of information provided varies by company. Not all companies provide a list. The university is not responsible for disclosing, erasing, or changing the information on former graduates provided by companies, so please contact the company that provided the information directly.
3. Storage PeriodAlthough we have not defined a specific period of time, information that has been stored for a long time will be automatically erased. We will also erase information on an individual at any time if said individual should request it.
Procedures for disclosing, erasing, or correcting career path information are as follows. All procedures are free of charge.
If an individual wishes to disclose or erase their personal information registered with the Career Center, they should submit the Request for the Disclosure/Erasure of Career Path Information found in the link below to the Career Center either by hand, email, or postal mail.
You will also be required to submit a copy of a document that proves your identity (driving license, health insurance card, passport, etc.). Please be aware that if you do not have proof of identity or if the address entered on the request form differs from the address on your proof of identity, we will not be able to send you a notice.
You will receive a notice by email or postal mail within one week (business days only) of the receipt of your request form. (You can also receive immediate confirmation at the Career Center)
The information will be erased within one week (business days only) of the receipt of your request form.

Individual wishing to correct career path information (change career path destination) should submit the Career Path Decision Notice found in the link below to the Career Center either by hand, email, or postal mail. You will also be required to submit a copy of a document that proves your identity (driving license, health insurance card, passport, etc.). Information will be corrected within one week (business days only) after receipt.
