Handling of Information of Graduate Career Paths

The Career Center handles and manages information on graduate career paths with care as outlined below, based on the Sophia School Corporation Policy on Personal Information Protection.

1. Purpose of information gathering
We only provide information to job hunting students within the scope of graduate visits, primarily focused on research into companies. Information is used for no other purpose.

2. Method of Provision
Data on the Career Path Decision Notice submitted by a student at the time of graduation will only be disclosed if information disclosure approval has been gained from the student themselves. Information including name, gender, faculty and department, year of graduation, and career destination (name of company or educational institute) can only be viewed from a computer within the Career Center Materials Room and only after the person wishing to view the information has been verified. Only students may use this resource. Data cannot be printed or copied. Data cannot be accessed from outside the university.

We also keep lists of former graduates provided by the HR departments of companies. These are kept with a contact at the Career Center and can only be viewed by students after their student ID has been verified. These lists cannot be copied or photographed but students may take a memo. The type of information provided varies by company. Not all companies provide a list. The university is not responsible for disclosing, erasing, or changing the information on former graduates provided by companies, so please contact the company that provided the information directly.

3. Storage Period
Although we have not defined a specific period of time, information that has been stored for a long time will be automatically erased. We will also erase information on an individual at any time if said individual should request it.
