The year 2023 marks the 50th anniversary of Fr. Arrupe, the former Superior General of the Society of Jesus, delivering his lecture entitled, “Men For Others,” in the city of Valencia in Spain.
In the exhibition, aside from sketches of his life, dispositions, and messages linking him to the present, we introduce his experiences of how as Rector of the monastery at Nagatsuka in Hiroshima at the time of the dropping of the atomic bomb, he opened the monastery to all as a relief center, and provided medical care to survivors of the bombing.
Be sure to take a look at it when you come to the campus.
This project was supervised by Associate Professor Sakai Yosuke of the Theology Faculty, and realized with the collaboration of four students.
