Type of Study Abroad: Global Internships

Every year, many Sophia University students study abroad in countries all over the world outside of Japan. How did they manage to find their way through the differences in languages, cultures, and lifestyles? Here are some voices of students who studied abroad.

I spent two weeks as an internship trainee at Sophia Global Education and Discovery Co., Ltd. (Sophia GED), a company established by Sophia Gakuin in Thailand. The reason I applied was to learn how to work in the future by experiencing an authentic and global working process that could be used in business.

The work included supporting online international exchange, creating ASEAN study abroad brochures and flyers and devising content for international exchange programs. Throughout this internship, I was able to learn efficient ways to work, the benefits of online tools and facilitation skills. It was such a valuable experience for me to objectively realize my own skills and those I need to develop in the future.

I have always been keen to work in a global environment with people from diverse circumstances. This internship experience has truly encouraged my direction for upcoming Shukatsu (job hunting). At the same time, I am very much motivated to study more than ever at Sophia University, my dream university since my high school days.

I would like to express my gratitude to everyone involved in making this internship meaningful.
