Relaxation of Yotsuya Campus Entry Restrictions in November (updated on Jan. 8)

To all students,

Activities on campus have been resumed in stages and campus entry restrictions will be relaxed beginning Monday, November 9. Please follow the instructions below for entering the campus.

Restrictions for extracurricular and other activities on weekdays will be relaxed in stages observing the number of people entering the campus and the spread of the infection.

1. Expanding the campus entry limit of students

Beginning Monday, November 9, as shown below, Yotsuya campus entry will be allowed for activities other than face-to-face classes and the use of the Library.

However, you will have to make advance reservation to avoid crowding of campus and to identify contact persons in confirmed cases of infection. Operation of advance reservation changes from Nov 30th. Please refer to “(1) Campus entry advance reservation” for details of advance reservation (as of Nov 24th).

Strictly observe the campus entry rules to prevent spread of infection that would put a stop to all activities on campus.

Administrative offices on the first floor of Building #2 will re-open from November 16.

If you wish to have a face-to-face consultation at administrative offices you must make an advance reservation to enter the campus. To apply, see the Nov 2 notice on Loyola “How to make an appointment for entry to campus after November 9.”

In addition, to avoid crowding of the campus, the number of students allowed to enter a specific room or office may be limited.

To make a reservation (in Japanese) access the WEB Career Center through Loyola.
For English language email the career center at career-co@sophia.ac.jp.
There will be a limit to the number of students who can enter the Career Center at once.

(1) Campus entry advance reservation (as of November 24)

Please show your student ID and reservation page at the security booth of the main entrance at all cases.

<< Campus admission until November 27th (Fri.) >>

  1. Please refer to Loyola “University notice” on November 2nd (Mon.) for the reservation details.
  2. Entry is only allowed on weekdays until November 27th (Fri.), from 9:00am to 5:00pm. (Limited to one day a week, no entry when reservation quota is reached.)
    ∗ Please make your reservation to enter the library and the Law master school library corner, which is not subjected to the “one day per week” policy.

<< Campus admission after November 30th (Mon.) >>

  1. Please refer to Loyola “University notice” on November 24th (Tue.) for the reservation details, entry is only allowed since the captioned day.
  2. Reservation of campus admission on both weekdays and weekend is open. Be mindful that operation hours vary on different days. Please refer to the reservation system.
  3. Reservation is required for entry to library and Law master school library corner. (No special reservation only for entry to library and Law master school library corner.)

 
(2) Points to note when entering the campus

  1. The basic rules are shown in “Campus Entry and Preventing Spread of COVID-19”. Please pay special attention to keep social distance and refrain from large group actions.
  2. Please report as specified the facilities etc. you visited/used while you were on campus on the entry day (details will be posted on Loyola)
  3. As up to now, you will have to make prior appointment and obtain permission for face-to-face consultation at administrative offices, Department offices and for individual visits to faculty.

2. Use of Computer Room

COM-C, COM-D will be available for use of special software, self-study, and printing. If you have made campus entry reservation, you need no reservation for Computer Room. However, the number of seats is limited, and the room may be full. Permission of your supervisor is not needed.

3. Taking online classes in classrooms

Students other than those taking face-to-face classes may also attend online classes in designated classrooms on campus. If you have made campus entry reservation, you need no reservation for use of such classrooms. However, the number of seats is limited, and the room may be full.

    Please note: Laptop computers and web cameras are installed. For prevention of infection, please bring your own headset.

    Please note: computers and headsets are not lent out; please bring your own.

4. Automated certificate issuing machine

Beginning Monday, November 9, if campus entry reservation is made, current students may use the automated certificate issuing machine.
From November 25, health certificates may be also available by the automated certificate issuing machine. (Added on November 26)

You may also apply for and obtain all certificates by postal service; there is no need to come to university.
