To Current Students and Parents / Guarantors
The Japanese Government has established at Emergency Subsidy Program to support independent students that are experiencing difficulties continuing their studies due to financial reasons caused by the COVID-19 outbreak.
Eligible students that wish to apply for this aid program must apply through their university. The university will then select candidates and recommend them to the government to receive the subsidy. Application information will be posted on Loyola (University Bulletin Board) by the beginning of June. Please check regularly for updates.

- Sophia University undergraduate and graduate degree students, including international students are eligible.
- This program is separate from Sophia University financial aid programs “Financial aid for students with reduced income from part-time employment” announced on May 11 and “[For Students who are in financial difficulty due to sudden change in household income] Sophia University Benefactor’s Scholarship (Sophia Campus Support & Sophia University Parents’ Association)” announced on May 20.
