Team Sophia Takes 3rd Place at 18th Intercollegiate Negotiation Competition
18th Intercollegiate Negotiation Competition was held at Sophia University on November 23 and 24. This is where the skill of arbitration and negotiation is competed among university teams. Sophia University is one of supporting members of the competition and has provided the venue.
250 students participated; 21 teams from Japan, 4 from Australia, Korea, Mongol and China. Team Sophia consisted of 11 members from the Seminar on International Business Law took the third place by their excellent performance.
“Participating in this competition gave me an opportunity to gain a skill to understand point of views of others. It was two months of considering how to get our views better across to arbitrators and the counter party. Also, I was able to meet with very important friends.” Miku Tsunoda, Senior at Faculty of Law commented.
As an instructor of the team, Tetsuo Morishita, Professor of Law School, expressed that “it was certainly an outcome of a big effort made by the team united as ‘one’. I truly respect the work and the growth of all members.”
