Five Projects Selected for the “India–Japan Circulation of Talented Youths in Science Programme (LOTUS Programme)”

Sophia University has had five research projects selected for the India–Japan Circulation of Talented Youths in Science Programme (LOTUS Programme), implemented by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST). This outcome reflects the strong reputation of our university’s international engagement and research activities, and represents an important opportunity to further strengthen research collaboration between Japan and India.

The LOTUS Programme invites outstanding young researchers from India to collaborate with Japanese universities and research institutions through joint research projects under the guidance of faculty from both countries.

Participants gain research experience in Japan, build their career paths, and develop international networks. The initiative aims to promote collaborative research and global knowledge exchange, contributing to the advancement of Japan’s research and innovation capacity through the development of internationally minded human resources.

At our university, researchers across multiple disciplines are actively engaged in international joint research through this programme. We will continue to broaden networks with universities and research institutions in India, promote sustained collaborative research, and strengthen exchanges among young researchers taking advantage of this year’s selection. We aim to enhance our university’s presence as an international research hub and contribute to global academic development through these efforts.
