【IMPORTANT NOTICE】Regarding Overseas Travel and Returning to Japan from Overseas

Since the previously announced notice on March 6, 2020, COVID-19 has spread to many countries in Europe and the Americas. Due to this we would like to reemphasize our requests to all students, faculty and staff.

The first day of class has been postponed until April 27. Please pay special attention to your health and even if you do not have any symptoms make sure that you are acting responsibly to prevent the spread of infection.

1. Individuals currently located outside of Japan

The number of countries announcing state of emergencies or restricting movement are increasing. In order ensure a smooth transition into the spring semester, we ask that you please return to Japan as soon as possible.

We recommend that you plan to return to Japan at least 14 days before the spring semester orientation begins (planned to start April 13) and follow “2. Managing your health after returning Japan”, below while monitoring your health at home after you return to Japan.

2. Managing your health after returning to Japan (Suspension from entering campus)

Even if you do not receive any instructions at your arrival destination airport, please make sure to confirm your own health condition using the Self-Health Management Form below and do not enter the campus for 14 days. If you have any questions or concerns please do not come to the campus in person, and call the offices in charge (see Office Directory ).

3. Individuals with plans to travel outside of Japan

With the current risk of outbreak around the world, we have decided to restrict all overseas travel, this includes countries rated Infectious Disease Danger level 2 by The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan as well all other countries. Applications for business trips, overseas invitation requests will be declined at this time.

Students who are participating in study abroad programs organized by the university will be contacted by program coordinators through Loyola and email. Please check them regularly.
