Receiving this award was something totally unexpected for me.
This was a conference of a very high level, with even the presence of the Nobel Prize Winner 2016 for Chemistry, James Fraser Stoddart. What I felt receiving this Award is a sense of responsibility as a “bridge” between the European and the Asian Research. Actually our cultures may influence even our way in conducting a scientific research. What I did is simply “translating” what we do in Japan, in words easily comprehensible by Europeans so that they understood the value of our research and appreciated it so much.
I think that this could be the beginning of many interesting collaborations.（原文）

本会議は2016年のノーベル化学賞受賞者であるJames Fraser Stoddart先生も出席されるなど、
非常にレベルの高い会議であったので、私にとって今回の受賞は全く予想外のことでした。
この賞をいただいて感じたのは、ヨーロッパとアジアの研究の「架け橋」としての責任感です。
日本で行っている研究をヨーロッパ圏の人たちにわかりやすい言葉で「伝える」ことで、
