Sophia University and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam sign Memorandum of Understanding in Amsterdam

Presidents of both universities shake hands after the signing

On January 13, 2025, Sophia University and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the VU campus in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The MoU aims to develop education and research at both universities and to promote international academic exchange.

Academic Panel Discussion

The signing ceremony was attended by Prof. dr. Jeroen Geurts, Rector of VU and President Terumichi, as well as faculty members from a task force at VU that focuses on collaboration with Japan, and an academic panel discussion was held to discuss the potential projects of future collaboration. Various concrete ideas were exchanged, including an exchange program for graduate students and collaboration in COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning), which we look forward to realizing in the future.

Through this new partnership, both universities plan to actively engage in exchanges and contribute to the development of the international academic community.
