Contemporary Art on Display in a Learning Space: Artwork Exhibition at the Active Commons

A contemporary artwork titled Collecting Hail by artist Nana Funo is currently on display in the Learning Commons area of the Active Commons in Building no.9.

This exhibition is being held as part of the Art in Student Life Project, proposed and promoted by contemporary art gallerist Tomio Koyama. The project is sponsored by Nippon Information Industry Corp. (NII).

The Art in Student Life Project aims to enhance student life by displaying high-quality artworks on a long-term basis in spaces such as university campuses, thereby fostering creativity and contributing to the quality of academic research and the development of critical thinking.

NII introduced the project and offered the artworks on a complimentary loan basis, an offer that was accepted by the University, making the permanent on-campus exhibition possible.

The exhibition is scheduled to remain on view for approximately three years. Visitors to the Active Commons are encouraged to take a moment to engage with the artwork. For more information about the artwork, please visit the following page (in Japanese):
