Virtual MOU Signing Ceremony with Panyapiwat Institute of Management, Thailand
Sophia University and Panyapiwat Institute of Management (PIM), a Thai Corporate University, held a virtual MOU signing ceremony on September 2nd, 2021. Representatives from the two institutions as well as those from CP ALL Public Company Limited, parent organization of PIM and affiliated company of Charoen Pokphand Group, the largest conglomerate in Thailand, have gathered virtually.
Following the presentation to introduce how relationships had been developed between the two universities from Dr. Usanee Kulintornprasert, Director of Office of International Relations of PIM, Prof. Dr. Yoshiaki Terumichi, President of Sophia University and Assc. Prof. Dr. Sompop Manarungsan, President of PIM gave speech to celebrate the newly established partnership between the two parties and expressed some possible areas of collaboration in the future.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the ceremony was held virtually, but both parties exchanged their hopes to visit each campus once the world overcome this difficult situation.
Sophia University offers educational internship courses designed to gain understanding of global society and competencies required in the society through work placement. This MOU with PIM is the first MOU with a corporate university for Sophia University, which will bring both parties to a new stage of international cooperation. In cooperation with Sophia Global Education and Discovery Co., Ltd. (Sophia GED) in Bangkok, Thailand, established by Sophia School Corporation aiming to promote educational and training related programs, Sophia University will explore the areas of collaboration with PIM in various fields such as internships and international training programs.
