Signing Ceremony for the Renewal of the Academic Partnership Program Agreement between Sophia University and UD Trucks

On January 15, Sophia University and UD Trucks held a signing ceremony at Sophia University’s Yotsuya Campus to renew the Academic Partnership Program (APP) agreement originally concluded in 2014.

The APP agreement was established with the aim of fostering human resources that can contribute to the global society. Since the partnership began in 2014, when UD Trucks was part of the Volvo Group, this renewal marks the fourth extension of the collaboration.

Under this agreement, Sophia University has offered collaborative courses with UD Trucks and internship programs, providing many students with opportunities to gain practical and global learning experiences. In the collaborative courses, students study global corporate strategy formulation and supply chain management based on UD Trucks’ business model. Through the internship program, students spend approximately two weeks at UD Trucks, where they work alongside employees of diverse nationalities and backgrounds.

At the renewal signing ceremony, UD Trucks was represented by President & CEO Mr. Ito, CFO, Senior Vice President Finance & Business Office, HR / Legal & Compliance Mr. Fujiwara, General Manager of HR Services Ms. Saito, and Culture Director Ms. Dalmonte, and other members. The event took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Sophia University and UD Trucks will continue to strengthen the collaboration based on the APP agreement, further advancing efforts to foster human resources that can contribute to the global society.
