The Photo Exhibition Capturing Kumamoto Earthquake by High School Students
From April 17 to 2, the photo exhibition “Reality of Kumamoto: Witnessed by Local High School Students” will be held at the Yotsuya Campus of Sophia University. Kumamoto Prefecture official character “Kumamon” will visit to celebrate the opening day. The exhibition was planned by volunteering Sophia students aiming to reflect on the disaster occurred in 2016.
With the thought “Lessons learned from the disaster shaken our peaceful city Kumamoto shall never be forgotten” about 35 photos revealing the “reality” of Kumamoto Earthquake will be exhibited captured by students of Kumamoto Prefecture Daini High School Photography Club. Members had been active shooting the photos of local scenes gathering attentions from fellow schoolmates to local residents however after the disaster they have been concentrating on capturing the photos of devastated areas.
At the exhibition English captions will be available for exhibited photos. Supporting messages to pass on those high school photographers will be welcomed and the donation box will also be available.
