Sophia School Corporation (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo), operating Sophia University as well as four other junior-senior high schools and junior college division, appointed Sali Augustine, Trustee of General Affairs, as its new Chancellor at Board of Trustees meeting convened on April 26, 2023. He is succeeding Tsutomu Sakuma, stepping down his position as Chancellor following his appointment as Provincial of Society of Jesus Japan Province. Society of Jesus is the founding body of Sophia University. His term of office will be from May 1, 2023, to March 31, 2026.
