○科目サブタイトル
Minority Language Education II
○講義概要
The first half of this course continues with the discussions pertaining to Jim Cummins' work on bilingual and multicultural education by further reading the book, Negotiating Identities(2001).

Based on what you have learned in the course, you will be encouraged to design your own research project related to bilingualism/multilingualism studies. This will be your final course paper.

Similar to the first course, the topic presentation contains the following:
1) summary of the chapter
2) discussion questions
3) summary of an additional reading

Individual presentation is the presentation of your own research. Be sure to include the following:
1) Rationale for the research
2) Research questions/hypothesis
3) Literature review
4) Methodology

Lectures will be conducted in English, and students are to do their presentation in English as well. While you are encouraged to write your response papers and your final course paper in English, papers written in Japanese will also be accepted.

The first course, Minority Language Education I, is the prerequisite to take this course.
