○講義概要 |
In this course we will explore ways in which language plays a part in intercultural communication. Through the analysis of samples of "real" English discourse we will deal with issues such as politeness, power, topic and face. Students will be required to read between 10 and 15 pages for homework each week and to participate actively in class discussions. They will also be required to collect their own data and conduct a short research project. This class will be limited to 48 students. Students wishing to enrol must attend the first class.
