| ○講義概要 |
Gender is a biological, psychological, and cultural construction that largely contributes to the formation of our personal and social identities. While "sex" is determined by one's biological make-up, one's "gender" is designated by characteristic traits and behavior based on perceived differences between the sexes. Topics that will be covered include how gender is culturally constructed in different societies around the globe; the different ways in which gender influences the roles that people carry out within the family, workplace, and society; and how cultural representations encourage the socialization of gender. Reading intensive.
