| ○講義概要 |
Irish culture has influenced the world in many aspects. There is a new buzz of confidence in Ireland today with its second woman President taking office in November, 1997. To help sustain this interest in “things Irish” are the success of "Riverdance" which has packed theatres in countries around the world and the fact that Seamus Heaney has won the Nobel Prize for Literature, etc. This Irish-Celtic cultural boom has delivered Ireland to the world again. Many people have become interested in Irish culture, music and folklore which reveal the mysterious Celtic side of the Irish. Special emphasis will be placed on the history of Ireland through song/music which will lead to a genuine understanding of Ireland and the Irish people.
