Seminar in American Social History
○講義概要
敗戦後の日本とアメリカの接触という歴史的な「事件」を検証することによって、現代日本の根幹となった「アメリカ」を考えます。具体的にはJohn Dower の著作「Embracing Defeat:Japan in the Wake of World War II」を分析し、その内容を論議すると共に、関連の情報（書籍）を検討します。
○評価方法
出席状況(30%)、授業参画(40%)、リアクションペーパー(30%)、レポート
○テキスト
基本テキストは下記の「テキスト1」です。全17章からなりますが、参加者は順番に各章についてのプレゼンテーション（内容紹介と関連事項の説明、自分の見解発表）を行なう。他に読むべきサブテキストは順次授業中に指摘します。
