"In this classI will speak in simple English about the special vocabulary needed for mathematics, general science and chemistry. Students from other departments should be able to follow the contents easily.The English used in hospitals will receive special attention. Each student will read three articles from news magazines written in English and will write a summary and some reflections. An oral presentation in Englishwill conclude the class. Students who cannot arrive at the Yotsuya campus by 0915 should not register for this course."

| 1 | During this course, each student will have to read three newspaper articles about science in English. At the end of each month a report will be made. |
| 2 | Prints in English about chemical English will be distributed and discussed. |

| 5 | A print which has the same material in English and in Japanese will be used. The content is about the use of participles in scientific writing. |
