○講義概要 |
This course is an introduction to modern grammatical theory. It covers the basic concepts in syntax, including phrase structure, movement operations, Case, thematic roles, binding, etc., with a special emphasis on what these grammatical principles can tell us about the universal mechanisms of human language. The examples are mainly drawn from English.

○評価方法 |
Class participation and the readings are required. There will be an in-class exam at the end of the term. Your grade will be based on the combination of your class performance and the result of the exam.
