○講義概要 |
In the firest half of this class we will examin think tanks and their influence on the social agenda in America. We will begin with a look at the corporate boosting of think tanks, then examine the research they have sponsored on IQ, their attack on Affirmative Action, and the influence their research has had, culminationg in the recent Supreme Court decision on affirmative action. We will then examine how these think tanks have been so effective. In the second half of the course we will examine the concept of groupthink and look at how it (or the lack of it) has led to good and bad decisions inn policy-making.
