| ○講義概要 |
This class will introduce Southern literature, focusing mainly on short fiction in the postwar years. Authors may include: William Faulkner, Eudora Welty, Richard Wright, Flannery O'Connor, Fred Chappell, Alice Walker, Larry Brown, Lee Smith, Dorothy Allison, Gayl Jones, Bobbie Ann Mason, and others. Each week we'll discuss a different author. Before each class, please read carefully, check the web site, and come prepared with questions and observations.

Attendance is required. Grades will be based on participation, quizzes, homework, and a final essay.
