Writing and Discussion Skills for Philosophy Majors
○講義概要
In this course an integrated approach will be used to give students the ability to express their thoughts both in writing and in group discussion about topics that are related to philosophical issues. Students will learn how to research, present and support their opinions. Current events,cultural and historical issues will be explored through film,documentaries and various texts. Daily notes in class on personal opinions, cultural topics and philosophy issues will be used for discussion in pairs and small groups.Some verbal presentations are required as well as discussion skill evaluation projects.
○評価方法
授業参画(50%)、レポート(15%)、前期学期末試験(授業期間中)(15%)、後期学期末試験(授業期間中)(20%)
Class participation is defined as the energy you bring to the class. Including your participation in discussions - Your responsibility to your partners on group projects -
Your ability to be on time and alert. Your ability to stay in English during discussion periods. Attendance in required at the level of 85% in foreign language classes to receive credit.
If you have attempted to take this class for credit in a previous semester you may be asked to do an independent research project depending on your writing and discussion abilities.
