まとまった量の英文を読み、内容を理解する力をつけることを目指します。とはいえ、大雑把に要旨を把握するのではなく、構文をしっかりとりつつ英文を読む訓練を積み重ねていきます。真の語学力の向上にはこれしかありません。
具体的には、「魔女狩り」をテーマにしたアーサー・ミラーの戯曲『るつぼ』を読みます。アメリカ社会を考えるひとつのきっかけになる名作です。
