WANK David
Professor
Sociology
B.A., Oberlin College
M.A., Ph.D., Harvard University
Research and Teaching Interests:
I use ethnographic and historical data to address sociological questions of state and society in China, and in globalization. I have published extensively on the emergence of the market economy and the revival of Buddhism in China. More recently, I have been examining culture industries in China and the United States, and the global rise of China. In my sociology courses at Sophia, I seek to connect the classroom content with the lives of my students.
