English Composition II
○講義概要
English Composition II is designed to guide you through the process of writing a college level research paper. You will be asked to select and write a 15 page paper on a topic that interests you. We will spend time becoming familiar with the essential tools necessary for writing a good research paper: Research Sources, Analysis, Synthesis, Argumentation, Methodology, Structure and Format. Students will be expected to read, pose questions, and make suggestions on classmates’ drafts; therefore attendance is crucial to the success of this class. Response to the work of others will be welcomed in a classroom environment that encourages students to speak freely, although respectfully, without the fear of personal attack or harassment.

Group contribution (15%) Miscellaneous Assignments (20%), First 5-Pages (15%), First 10-Pages (15%),
First 15-Pages (15%), Final Draft (10%)
All late homework will lose one letter grade for every day it is late. Missing more than 4 classes in any one semester will result in automatic failure of the class.

Students may be asked to pay for copies.
An English dictionary and thesaurus are required.
