○科目サブタイトル
Oral English for Teachers
○講義概要
This first half of the teacher's course will work on improving the student's English abilities in the spoken area. It will do so by using certain activites / techniques that the students can learn to apply themselves when they later become teachers. So after the activities are completed there will be discussion on how effective these activities were as well as the pros and cons of each techniques. As such there will be little written English in this first half of the course but any written or grammatical errors will be covered as and when they occur. The emphasis will be on spoken English however. Student's will start with pronunciation activities, then such things as directions, explanations, storytelling, discussions etc will be covered. At the end then the students should have learned how to do a certain number of things using spoken English. More importantly they should then be able to teach these same things using the techniques / activites covered in this part of the course. To check this students will be given certain tasks to preform - usually involving them having to make their own teaching materials based on the ones used in class. These will be marked and will account for 25% of the total grading, with the other 75% coming from in class assessment. Furthermore a minimum of 80% attendance of all classes is required as less than this will result in a fail grade. All materials will be supplied by the teacher so no books are required.
