| ○講義概要 |
| This course is designed for students who have near native speaking abilities in English. We will be looking at literature dealing with psychological and physical conflicts. Topics such as individual identity, gender issues, family ties, race relations and the use of force will be examined through a series of short stories written by modern American writers. Extensive reading, writing, and discussion will be main activities in the class as deep interpretation and analysis of each work will be done. Students will be expected to maintain a written journal and do independent research assignments each week. |

| レポート(40%)、後期学期末試験(授業期間中)(15%)、中間試験(15%) Semester Oral presentations 30% Weekly assignments 40% Comprehensive exams 30% To pass this course 85% attendance is required AND a passing total percentage. |
