◆SURVEY OF JAPANESE RELIGIONS - (前・集中)

○講義概要
This course is an introduction to the religions of Japan. Surveying the major religious traditions of Japan, the course will focus on a number of themes that characterize Japanese religions. These themes include: religion and the state, mythology, syncretism and pilgrimage. The purpose of the course is to acquire a working knowledge of religions' roles in Japanese culture, society, and history. The course presupposes no prior coursework on Asian religions or Japanese culture.
