○講義概要 |
This course expects each of you to research, design and execute an original project based on data gathered during the semester. In addition to defining a topic through a literature search related to your chosen topic, you will learn a range of ethnographic techniques that will facilitate their own interviews and observations from the field. _Repeated regular contract with the field site will be necessary. Timely completion of assignment, active participation in classroom activities, short student presentations and final papers consisting of preliminary research findings will be required.
Prerequisites for the course are: Either Introduction to Anthropology or Sociology, and at least two of the following courses: Antho 309 (Cont. Japanese Society), 330 (archaeological Methods), 350 (Culture Change), or Soc 301 (Classical Soc. Theory), 302 (Cont. Social Theory), 331 (Political Soc), 350 (Social Change) or 405 (Soc. Stratification).
