| ○講義概要 |
In this class we will study British films from the 1940’s to the present day. Every week students will have to watch one film in the library and some students will be assigned to make oral presentations about the films. I will organize the course around social and cultural topics, such as Young People, Love and Marriage, Drugs, Immigration, Multiculturalism, Class, Gender, Work and Unemployment. We will discuss the films both as works of entertainment and art, but also as ways of understanding British society. This class will appeal to students who are interested in cinema or British society. Grades will be based on participation in class, oral reports and written work. (Students can take either Eikoku Kenkyu 1 or 2 or both classes)
