| ○講義概要 |
後期週2回の授業。1901年の革新主義の始まりから、30年代のニューディール、60年代の対抗文化の時代を経て、今日に至るまでの100年の歴史。トピックを追う形で時空を前後左右に動きながら、アメリカの世紀といわれる20世紀を統合的に考察。あわせて現代世界のなかのアメリカの意義を考える。多数の参考資料（英文・クラスで配布）を前もって読み、クラスでは討論が中心となる。A hundred years history from the Progressive Era to George Bush. More emphasys on social history. Prior knowledge of basic American history is presupposed. Class will be conducted in Japanese but your prior reading (distributed English material) and participation in class discussion (English or Japanese) is vital. Diligent attendance is necessary for satisfactory completion of this course.
