○講義概要

We will explore literary themes and techniques using works from contemporary American literature. We will learn how to interpret as well as articulate the various themes which surface in the works surveyed, and in the process develop a keen, critical eye for literature. THIS CLASS IS LIMITED TO 20 STUDENTS. ONLY STUDENTS WHO ATTEND THE FIRST CLASS OR HAVE RECEIVED CONSENT FROM THE INSTRUCTOR PRIOR TO THE FIRST CLASS MAY BE PERMITTED TO REGISTER.

Grades will be based on attendance, participation in the discussions, presentations, and a paper.
