○講義概要

In this course, we will explore American culture through the study of American literature–its themes, language, characters, thoughts, forms, and techniques. We will learn how to interpret as well as articulate the various themes and ideas which will surface in the short stories, poems, novellas, and plays surveyed, and work toward developing a keen, critical eye for American culture as expressed in its literature.

Grades will be based on attendance, quiz scores, participation in group and class discussions, exams and class projects.
