Perspectives on American Politics
○講義概要
This course will look at the American political system and American politics with the goal of understanding the issues the U.S. faces and how it tries to deal with them.It will be divided into three broad sections:historical foundations;the experiences of Hawai'i(the instructor's home place)in comparison to the rest of the U.S.;and contemporary issues.Classes will use a lecture and seminar format. Students will be expected to participate in discussions and class exercises that help us to compare perspectives on complex issues.

Class Participation(regular attendance is expected):30%
Small Group In-Class Projects:40%
Two Short Essays(mid-course and end): 30%
