○講義概要
This course aims to improve two basic skills in English used in academic and professional environment. The first is the effective application of intellectual and academic vocabulary in debates, and the second is the writing skills that require grammatical accuracy and coherent argument. You will learn how to express your ideas and feelings in your own words. For each topic, you will learn a set of academic words relevant to that topic. This will promote flexible and effective application of words in various contexts. You will also watch video clips and have discussions on the issues raised in them. You will give 5 presentations during the course of this year.
○評価方法
出席状況(10%)、授業参画(10%)、リアクションペーパー(70%)、後期学期末試験(授業期間中)(10%)
Presentations will account for 70 % of the entire mark.
○テキスト
There will be no textbook, but you will use the Internet and newspaper articles for research.
