| ○講義概要 |
In this course you will develop writing skills and also learn to think critically. At the beginning of each topic, you will be given a category of words to work on. You will also have discussions on the issues raised in them. The goal is to learn how to express your ideas and feelings in a structured essay style.

| ○評価方法 |
授業参画(10%)、リアクションペーパー(70%)、レポート(20%)
Five topics will be covered in the class. You will write five essays and submit them typed (which will account for 70%). In December, you will select three good essays to refine and improve. These essays will account for 20% of your mark.

There is no text book, but news paper articles and the Internet will be used for research materials.
