◆QUANTITATIVE APPROACHES TO MANAGEMENT　－　（前）

○講義概要
This course describes methods that aid decision-making in business. It provides the manager with the mathematical tools to handle such problems as inventory control, planning and scheduling, distribution, queues, traffic flows, cost and profit optimization in an effective manner. The course includes the study and economic interpretation of linear programming and computer programs will be used to solve many of the problems.

Prerequisite

Basic computer knowledge

MTH111: Mathematics and Statistics for Business and Economics or equivalent

Although this course covers mathematical methods for use in business, the emphasis will be on the reasoning behind the methods rather than the mathematics. Students will use computers (Excel and text-book CD-ROM) to help solve problems.
