| ○講義概要 |
| A survey course of the political, social, economic and cultural dimensions of modern Japanese history. Class consists of lectures, class discussions, student analyses of primary sources, papers and exams. As a final oral history project each student is asked to interview a person who experienced World War II and/or the US Occupation. |

| Class Participation 5% Online Homework 15% Autobiography Paper 10% Oral History Research Paper 20% Midterm Examination 25% Final Examination 25% Workload: preparation time of 3-5 hours per week |
