◆ETHNOGRAPHY OF JAPAN AND OTHER SOCIETIES - (前)

○講義概要
This course is designed as an anthropological introduction to Japan as approached through the comparative study with other societies. We will study film/video and a variety of textual sources in order to capture a richer picture of cultural pattern. Students will acquaint themselves with a number of cultures from several parts of the world, ranging in in form from those of small-scale tribal societies to those of state societies.
This year we will focus on the themes of culture contact and the dynamics of fieldwork

リアクションペーパー(25%)、中間試験(25%)
Final Exam: 25%
Final Papaer/Project: 25%

All students are expected to attend all classes in order to pass the course.
