| ○講義概要 |
This course develops basic composition skills and writing strategies to enable students to write effective academic papers. Attention will be given to matters of grammar and sentence construction, as well as to the composition of well-organized, coherent, and fully developed paragraphs and essays. The underlying philosophy of the course is that writing students need to spend more time practicing writing than discussing theories about writing. Thus, students will be expected to write extensively.

A detailed explanation of course requirements and grading policy will be provided with the syllabus handed out on the first day of class. Attendance is mandatory.
