| ○講義概要 |
This course will be a discussion course that looks at various topical events such as 9-11, the invasions of Afghanistan & Iraq, Japan and the UNSC, Japan's declining population etc. To do this a number of sources will be used. This will involve the watching of documentaries in class, assigned readings before and during class and so on. These will all be provided or assigned by the teacher. Then these sources will be discussed and each student will take turns giving mini summaries / presentations of the materials under discussion. As these will all be actual real materails and not teaching materails an upper intermediate to advanced level of English is a prerequisite for this course but the actual readings will depend on the student levels and will be set in the first week of the course. The level of participation and quality of the reports will determine the grades for this course.

出席状況(10%)、授業参画(30%)、レポート(60%)
Attendance of at least 75% of the classes is mandatory, less than this will result in a fail grade being given.

| ○授業計画 |
| 1 | Introductions, class rules, outline of course for the year, explanation of grading system in-depth. The pace of the course will be dependent on the levels of the students and a more thorough course outline will be given during the course. |
