Part Two: Commercialism of English
○講義概要
In the second half of this course we will take a look at commercialism in English. What makes English the right medium for music, fashion and advertising industries? Also, the Internet and instant messaging have introduced a new kind of English that needs to be understood in order to keep up with this fast-paced area. Every student will develop a proposal for an advertising campaign and a commercial that the whole class (in groups) will then choose from to write the script and finally film and present. The group will have to explain the process of language in the presentation.

End of semester advertising campaign design 10%
End of semester advertising campaign presentation 30%
