○講義概要
This course will focus on developing presentation and research skills using a course packet, a textbook on American Culture, and Internet information on cross-cultural communication and issues. You will be tested on the cultural information. Students must prepare to discuss the issues that week before class, using a journal to record their preparation and their amount of English used in class. In groups, people will take turns leading and reporting to the class. Coming to class on time is vital for the success of these group reports, so late students will be downgraded. Groups should form from the beginning of class and actively discuss their topic. Computers will be used only as a tool to help any research, reporting or explanation. Students should be prepared to give several reports and also to do a midterm essay based one of their topics. Many fall class discussions will be led by the student groups, with grades dependent on the level of interaction and effort made.

Vital Note 1: **You must regularly check your PC email address as well as a class website for class updates and important files.
Urgent Note 2:**You must keep in touch with classmates and do the work even if you miss class. **
