| ○講義概要 |
This is an Intergrated Listening/Speaking/Reading/Writing Communication course following an Intermediate level, Japanese/English TV News course book. You will be expected to watch the video in class and complete written and spoken exercises in your work book. As well, you will be encouraged to participate actively in class and small group discussions and debates on news topics. You will learn how to give a short, class presentation on a current issue of your choice. In reading and writing you will learn how to paraphrase, summarize and write your opinion on short newspaper, magazine and internet articles and how to write a short research report on your favourite news topic.

出席状況(10%)、授業参画(10%)、レポート(20%)、前期学期末試験(授業期間中)(20%)、後期学期末試験(授業期間中)(20%)
In first semester students will give a short class presentation worth 20%.

| 1 | Topics will follow the TV News text book and be explained in the first class. Some topics include, New Teen Magazine, Japanese Hostages Released, A Closer Look at Same Sex Marruages, A Smoking Ban in Ireland. |
