○講義概要

In this course you will develop writing skills and also learn to think critically. Each week you will be given a category of words to work on. You will also listen to tapes and have discussions on the issues raised in them. The goal is to learn how to express your ideas and feelings in a structured essay style. We will use a textbook, but other sources (from the Internet and books) are used for your research.

○評価方法

出席状況(10%)、レポート(80%)
Six topics will be covered in the class. You will write six essays in classes and submit them typed (which will account for 20%), but you can select the better ones (three essays) for further evaluation. These three essays (2 short ones and 1 long essay) will be evaluated based on its structure, major points, English and logic. These three will account for 60% of your mark.
