Jesuit Education for All: Helping Universities Grow asHolistic CommunitiesFr. Arturo Sosa S.J., the 31st and current Superior General of the Society of Jesus, visited Sophia on July 31 in order to attend a special event organized by the university. The Society of Jesus, founded by St. Ignatius of Loyola around 500 years ago, is one of the most influential religious orders of the Catholic Church and the largest male religious order in the world. In the course of his dialogue with both Yoshiaki Terumichi, the President of Sophia University, and Fr. Tsutomu Sakuma, S.J., the Chancellor of Sophia School Corporation, Fr. Sosa shared his insights concerning the role of Jesuit schools in Japan, and ways of reaching out to the younger generation, in these unsettling times. Special Talk6
